Introduction
The Bushidokan Karate Club studies traditional Shorinjiryu Karatedo. Our club was established at Father Jan Community School in St. Albert in 1982. We are an active Martial Arts Club with a strong membership base. Some of our activities include: local children's tournaments, local, national and international adult tournaments, half day children's winter and summer camps and three day adult winter and summer camps.
We offer Karate classes for adults and teenagers. Classes are held two times a week. There are approximately 20 students ranging from 12 to 40+ years of age training at our club.
Beginners start out as "white belts" and begin their study of traditional Japanese SHORINJIRYU KARATEDO. Session by session, they learn sets of movements designed to enhance their physical fitness, self confidence and self defense knowledge. Month by month as they progress, they are tested and introduced to new material.
Karate uniforms and belts may be purchased from the club or other outlets around the city. Protective equipment, excluding mouthguards is supplied.
